The Ask
To produce custom millwork for a nearby apartment complex sales center. The millwork needed to reflect the modern architectural feel of the Towers and of the display rooms themselves. Considerations had to be made for inbuilt TV and interactive screens, with the centerpiece being a tiered 10’ diameter table to house the model of the towers themselves. We were given two weeks for the build and install.
The Solution
Use of a color core laminate was the immediate choice, as a modern high end finish was required. The elimination of the black lines that are the result of non color core laminate achieved the high end finish the client was looking for. Shadow lines were used strategically and symmetrically to hide any seams in the laminate that would normally occur in situations where the millwork size exceeded material size. This was especially important for the 10’ round table.
